Ceramic is known to be resistant to high temperature (up to 1112 °F or 600° C). 3D models that come with clear bottom do not have a glazed bottom side. The purpose of keeping the bottom side unglazed is to increase the stability of the model when it is in an upright (e.g. when a pan is placed on an oven). Similarly, models that do not come with clear bottom come with all glazed parts, except for the part that is [placed on a setter. Technologies and Processes in Use for 3D Printing Ceramic
We use advanced 3D printer to build product prototypes using ceramics. The model is built up layer by layer and a roller is used for putting a thin layer on the moulded model. Once we obtain the final product, we remove the model from the printer and place it on an oven for drying. Drying process is used for enhancing the strength and stability of the model and the model is then placed on an oven to add more strength. After first firing, we apply the pre-glaze coat and put the object on oven for second and last time. It achieves the desired glossy finish through this process.
